Many of you know that the BALMAIN for H&M Collection came out and sold out this week!!!In my opinion, it was one of the most inspiring collections I have ever seen and I couldn’t wait for it to come out! Sadly, it was gone in a blink of an eye and a dark cloud came over my head. Why it did hurt me that I could no longer purchase anything from that collection for less than $1,000!But I have moved on!? Sort of…
On another note, I have been thinking about how many of the designers from centuries ago to today have always had inspiration strike them like lighting and then go on a blank period for a while. That’s how its like for many people. Artists, writers, architects, stylists, and musicians all get blocked! I would be lying if I told everyone that I had the perfect topic to write about every week. It happens and many say that the best place and time to get inspired is when you are around extravagant people and places to color those blank spots in your life. Wanting to be an inspiring fashion designer, I know what its like to be completely blocked! I have trouble thinking of new, original ideas and it gets frustrating after a while…But then I realize that no matter if it was already done before or people believe that its out style I still designed it and I love everything that I believe is good enough to get me where I want to be. Maybe for a lot of people is doing better than “good enough” but its still a work of art and it should be admired the most by the artist.
Get inspired and don’t hold back!

Suggested Shoes: Any black heels, flats, sandals, boots or any bright colored flats.
I apologize for being absent the last two weeks. I was having some technical difficulties with the site, but I’m back with more to share!!!
Knowing you have to alter your jeans because you aren’t 5’6” can be really annoying, but altering for your own entertainment is such a great way to make your clothes your “own”. Creativity can strike and the unlimited ways for you to create a new look can help you find more things you didn’t even know you would like.
Don’t go crazy with the scissors, but think of how you want it to come out. Of course, there is no fault in going to a professional for help. Skirts can be altered, pants, and jackets, but there are endless possibilities to personalize your clothes such as sewing on some patches on your jeans, adding some colored thread on your hems. Adding some new holes on your jeans and maybe even painting, which nail polish seems to work…to add some cool texture. Don’t get carried away because you could end up wearing an art project instead of clothes…
Not all of us are built like models so sometime we have no other choice but to alter our hem lines but that’s when you can make it fun. Making a top into a crop top, shortening you jeans, cutting you sleeves off those long sleeve shirts because the sleeves are just so dang long, may sound like extra work you have to get done during your busy week, but it can be fun if you do it with a friend! sounds clíche..I know. But its true! Run down to your nearest craft store and alter, fringe, and make it happen!!!
Demi Lovato slaying wearing a fitting leather dress that she shortened to make it look more edgy because we all know that she can pull it off.
P.S. I don’t recommend doing this to all your clothes. Maybe just those pieces that you don’t wear that often or just seem really simple to you.

Online Shopping turn into your worst nightmare..trust me..I know! There are so many things, so many pretty things, but its a battle trying to really decide what you really do want (what you think you need). Shopping online can really get you thinking about what you really need in your closet and how much money you can spend. SALES are you best friends!!!and don’t you forget it because they save you and your wallet. I can’t imagine being the only one that clicks on the sale button before clicking on the New Arrivals.
Some websites have you choose how much you would like to spend. Which is perfect!! Don’t forget to always think about what you really need to complete an outfit, or what you want to have in your closet to fit the season or an event.
Sizing can always be tricky especially if haven’t even shopped at a certain website before. Always check the size chart and check the size chart on other websites that you have shopped from before. Compare. And Click.
And Finally…before checking out, go to your bag and check again that you have what you want. Double check you didn’t click twice on the quantity button on any item. Make sure you the total is the amount you want to spend. No more. Defiantly not $100 more, and if it is, take some items and save them for later. Think about what I said a while back, “Do I really want to spend this much for this.?”
Happy Online Shopping!!!!!

Casual apparel is not really the way I go…but it is the way to go when I really need to GO! When I hear “Casual Wear”, I picture jeans/shorts, simple shirt, and shoes; others might think Nike shorts, t-shirt, and flip-flops. But we can agree to disagree. Casual is there for me when I in a hurry and need to get out the door, when I need to run errands or need to meet up with a study group. (You don’t want to make it look that you tried too hard but also don’t make it look that you don’t care at all. ..?)
So here is my advice to you…
First, casual doesn’t always mean comfortable. There is such a thing as looking casual and not quite feeling like you can dance around. So, to be more specific casual is slipping on those jeans, that cute shirt and your accessories including you jacket and jewelry for the day out can look so simple and comfortable, and still fab. You don’t have to wear your 4′ inch heels to balance a casual and dressy day, but you can bring yourself to put that statement necklace on to give your outfit some dazzle. Casual wear can also mean business casual meaning wearing your blazer with your most comfortable pants and not have to feel like you have to wear your hair up and wear heels.
Remember that casual wear can totally be comfortable and easy, but you can make it look better by adding your hats, necklaces, jackets, and belts. Make it look you didn’t spend much time planning out your outfit. I promise. Your casual wear will blows minds.

I believe that I have more than one style and many looks that I like and enjoy putting together. Kind of like.. I like the beach but I also like strolling around downtown.I like coffee but I can also sit down with my tea. I like going chic but also like going for that edgy look. I have many sides but they make…well…ME!I enjoy many things, one of them being shopping and when that occurs, which is pretty often. I shop for my look, but at times, I don’t always know what or which style I truly want to stick with. I realized then that I can be both because that is just me and I want to dress like nobody else but me ( and maybe sometimes like Anna Wintour…?) At the end of the day, I know myself and I know who I am and am dressing for me..nobody else.
What I’m trying to say is…that its okay to have more than one look and still feel like you know who you are. You don’t have to choose just one style. You can defiantly go boho one day and casual the next. Like I have said before, be you everywhere you go. Some stores just focus on one style (UO, J.Crew) , but others have a mix (H&M, Abercrombie). Also, don’t be afraid to change things up! Go into stores and boutiques you haven’t even step foot in. You may be surprised! I defiantly thought of myself as very chic and classic, but I started changing up my look some days into more of a retro look.I did it because I realized that I really did like the style and the patterns and designs that came with it. One of my good friends, Alyssa, has that edgy style and she was a real inspiration because she doesn’t hold back her charisma. I didn’t change my look or myself, I built my character.
This is reality! And in reality, everyone can dress as they wish. You can merge your two, three styles. You can alternate. Just..Don’t change! (if that makes any sense..)
Outfit of the Day:
I was left speechless but I still want to tell you my thoughts on this years New York Fashion Week! Yes, it has past but I am still obsessing over the coolest new trends and designs! What I would of done to be there!!!!Anyways, by watching all the fashion shows everyday for the past week, I’ve been inspired and obviously blown away by all designers. Marc Jacobs, Carolina Herrera, and Jeremy Scott were my favorites! This week was all about new and fresh designs for the world to see. Everybody that was part of NYFW are so fortunate and incredibly talented. They never disappoint! I loved the floral theme by Bradgley Mischka and the pop-up art Jeremy Scott collection. The colors and patterns were absolutely brilliant! I hope to one day go and experience going to as many shows as possible.
Here are some of my favorite looks and designers! You can find all the looks at nyfw.com!

The summer humidity fades, the leaves fall, and sweater weather is back on. The satisfaction of a thick warm sweater and knee high socks is indescribable. A Houston local like me might have to wait up for that feeling for a while longer knowing that it will be hot and humid up to November… but that isn’t stopping me from searching for my fall wardrobe. Change is good especially when it comes to fashion; great if you change your style to fit your personality better or when you change your outfit to go to a dinner party, but change is stirring when it comes to seasons. May be hard to fold those shorts and tanks and placing them back in your drawer for another year. However, the sweaters come out and so does those cute boots you’ve been dying to wear!
First, don’t take all your summer wardrobe to the back of your closet! Some pieces can totally correspond with your fall attire. T-shirts, blouses, sweaters, and skirts that matched your summer theme can totally compliment those new fall colors. Layering is such a great way to keep to those pieces, but also leaves you ready for any type of weather that day. Say its sunny but cold wind is blowing, any skirt with tights or knee high socks with your boots is a great way to go! The skirt keeps you comfortable and flexible while the tights/socks keep your legs warm.
When it comes to fall, many people think of orange, dark greens and reds, yellow, and brown…but its not always necessarily got be just dark, faded colors. Don’t be afraid or even doubtful to add some color! Like I said, those summer colors don’t have to completely go away. Add some neon or even some metallic textures to your fall outfit. Its still your style no matter what; seasons change, but they shouldn’t change you. Keep your wardrobe, keep your flair, keep your favorite colors alive all year round no matter the circumstances.
Stay cool? while staying warm ?this fall season approaching!

There are no words that could describe the pain when knowing you can’t afford something on a mannequin while window shopping.I get it…its hard to keep the money in the wallet, but its also totally fine to buy that one thing we really do want (as long as you can still buy yourself food that week..?). I am a typical girl with a normal clothing budget. It is totally normal to go to the Sale section first and not feel totally shameful. Affordable fashion may be hard to reserve, hard to find, but definitely not hard to flaunt. Pieces on sale from different stores or boutiques can make such an expensive looking outfit because not all cute outfits are the expensive designer ones. I promise.. you’ll feel so much better knowing you paid half the price. It’s no Chanel dress, but it’s still fabulous!
Your whole closet does not have to sustain so many clothes from designer brands for you to feel fashionable. The clothes you have from that sale section from forever 21 can make such a great look that satisfies your style and look for the day!
Don’t forget to check the internet and look up your favorite stores and resist the temptation clicking on the new arrivals button!!! Pick out something you like that is good quality, but at the lowest price. You might think there is no such thing but there is!(I recomend Nasty Gal, Modcloth, Nordstrom)
Affordable fashion isn’t finding the cheapest shirt but what you think is fair and how much you would like to spend. Next time you go shopping, when you see something you like don’t look at the price tag! Think to yourself what you would pay for that piece and if the price seems to be over what you thought…think again…and ask”Am I still willing to pay for this for this much?” It all comes down to this, dress for yourself also meaning pay what you think is reasonable because it’s all for you anyways.
Don’t forget to go out this weekend for the Labor Day sales!!!

Just to let everyone know i will be posting about mid-day every Saturday and will also be open to any ideas or comments.

When thinking about the outfit for the day, many things come to mind. Will it be hot, really hot, humid, or windy? What activities do I have for that day? Will I end up walking all day? Will I see my worst enemy or maybe just the person I just want to make jealous for absolutely no reason? These questions seem to pop up in our heads and most of the time we just end up winging it the next day. If you’re like me, you like to plan ahead and that includes the outfit.
Hanging with friends, running errands, going shopping, or just a typical school day, your outfit should always define you. That is rule #1, always wear who you are. Don’t listen to those haters that don’t get your style or simply just don’t like it! Be you everywhere you go and the outfit just simply makes that easier.
Don’t just plainly give up!! On anything, but most certainly not on an outfit! Can’t find anything in your closet? You already wore that shirt too many times!!! Repeating outfits is totally Okay. I mean if your friends and family already saw you wear it a few days back that doesn’t mean that the whole world has and that the goal (for me at least)!!!Also, don’t be afraid to mix things up. You may be hesitant and think to yourself, “Does this look good together?” Its all good, look very closely at what you’re putting together and try to ask yourself this instead, “Does this outfit look exceptional and superior at the same time?” Hard to decide…I know, but its not always easy…And that is your rule #2-Don’t be afraid to mix and match what you’ve got!
Last thing for today, I encourage everyone to wear who you are, but also be the person you want to be. Don’t change your look for anyone! And always look fabulous..You never know who you might run into…
